TOP CAT: The Movie

Disclosure: No payment of any kind has been received or offered for this post.

There’s an old cat in town!

I’m more than a little excited today, as I bring you my first movie trailer post! I’ve been asked to tell you all about Vintage Films’ forthcoming release in the UK on 1 June (i.e. just in time for the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend folks) So if you haven’t already booked a holiday, got the olds coming round or closed the street for a bit of a shindig, I hope you’ll now be considering popping along to your local cinema to see this.

I know no more than you about it at this stage, but I do remember loving old TC and feeling sorry for poor old Officer Dibble.

Well never fear fellow parents, whether you’re a twenty/thirty/forty/fifty somethings ‘cos Benny the Ball, Fancy Fancy, Choo Choo, Spook and Brains, and the indisputable leader of the gang, TC, are back at war with the long arm of the law when the menacing Police Chief Strickland moves to town, ousting the bumbling Officer Dibble.

Determined to put a stop to the feline antics in Hoagy’s Alley with the help of a bullying robot police force, the tech-savvy Strickland threatens to be the most dastardly enemy the gang has ever faced.

Distributors, Vertigo Films say “Top Cat is an iconic and much-loved character known by nearly every parent in the UK. We are thrilled to be bringing Top Cat, his mischievous gang and Officer Dibble to a whole new generation”

Before you throw tomatoes at me or something, now is the time to confess that, while he’s watched quite a few DVDs since his second birthday, The Little Chap has not yet been to the cinema. The Little Chap is now about the age I remember being when I began to enjoy the cartoons on TV. Also, I’ve been thinking recently that Mayfair Dad could really do with a break, so maybe this family film will be right up our alley!

I have a hunch the tickets might be a little hard to come by though…

Please don’t forget to pop back here to let me know what you think of it if you manage to get tickets!
