That’s what I thought too! He wasn’t exactly camouflaging himself effectively either, which is probably why he wasn’t there the next day!
I thought I must be wrong – wonder whether he had changed by the next day already
Very odd – was no sign of a chrysalis or anything interesting anywhere nearby in the morning. Perhaps not trying hard enough. We had half a dozen in our lavendar bush years ago at a previous property. Only three made it to chrysali, the others we assumed were breakfast for the birds!
ooooh very hairy caterpillar, makes me wriggle a bit – am not keen on them.
