This poem, which I’m linking up to this week’s Prose for Thought linky, is another I wrote previously. When Little Chap was three, he became obsessed with all things knights and pirates. Dressing up, playing with toy figures and not to forget the cartoons of Captain Pugwash and Disney’s Robin Hood which were watched on endless repeat.
To be honest, not a lot has changed, only that Little Chap has a little less leisure time to indulge his fantasies now he’s at school. I hope you enjoy this one.

As they set sail on the ocean blue;
Sailing the sea hunting jewels and gold,
In search of adventures, they’re greedy and bold. Knights in their castles, noble and fine,
Fighting off warriors, dragons and swine;
Keeping fair ladies safe from their foe,
Bravest and best wherever they go. Life in the playroom can never be dull,
As fantasies great, little imaginations mull;
With toys, games, adventures and so much more,
Bricks to build with and dens to explore. © Mayfair Mum, 2012
I like this one!
Sweet poem, really captures the magic of imaginative play. Your boy sounds wonderfully creative.
It is such a lovely phase! I love how children use their imagination – may it last forever 🙂
Interesting how they go through these phases of liking things. We are with rockets at the moment 🙂 Popped over from #Prose4T.
I have two little boys so I can identify with this! fab!
This is such fun, I really enjoyed it. One of my girls is going through a pirate phase which heightened my enjoyment further 🙂
Love it, very fun x
Lovely, a brief glimpse into the vivid imagination of a little boy x
I really love this one 🙂 So full of exactly what a child’s imagination is. Thank you so much for linking to Prose for Thought x
